On Friday 15 March, meet up at The Beacon for the first day of Wantage Beer & Cider Festival organised by White Horse CAMRA. Bring your CAMRA membership card for free admission (otherwise £2 (£3 Friday 5-11pm)).
Tim Thomas will bring copies of Ullage magazine to the event. Travel with him from Newbury station on 11.58 train to Reading, changing there for 12.27 to Didcot Parkway. From Didcot Parkway purchase a return bus ticket to Wantage and travel on the Thames Travel X32 bus (departs 12.59, arrives 13.43). Return bus fare is £5.60 (single £3.70).
Note that the Royal Oak, Wantage opens at 5.30pm. Plan is to visit this pub before returning to Newbury via Didcot Parkway station and Reading. Buses depart Wantage Market Place at 18.08 (33), 18.40 (33), 19.15 (X33), 19.40 (33) and 20.45 (X32).
