Breweries

Established in 2022 by James Macaulay. The brewery is situated in an outbuilding behind the Bell Inn, Aldworth. Beer is initially brewed for casks that are served at the Bell Inn, Aldworth. Five Giants was the first beer brewed, a traditional bitter. Elleorde was the second beer brewed (in 2023), an English Pale Ale.

Formerly West Berkshire Brewery now trading as Renegade Brewery under Yattendon Brewing Company Ltd as of October 2022.

Beers brewed by Richard Marshall. Accredited producer of Real Ale In a Bottle (bottle-conditioned beer). Stockists include: Inn at Home, Newbury; The Pangbourne Cheese Shop; Hermitage Post Office & Store.

The cider is made from fresh pressed apples from the orchards at Hungerford Park, an ancient estate. Hanging Wood Dry Cider 4.5% ABV, Fallen Tree Still Medium Dry 6% ABV and Hedgerow (Blackberry, Rosehip and Elderflower) 4% ABV are the three ciders available. Greenham Fallout Cider is a small producer of oak aged cider set up by Chris Moore and Steve Cooper in 2013.

Dave Bailey established Green Shed Cider in Newbury in 2018. Ciders are stocked at the Catherine Wheel, Newbury.

Brewery upscaled in 2019 to supply cask and keg beers for festivals, pubs and bars. Now based at Two Cocks Farm.

Thatcham’s first craft brewery established by Tom Broadbank. Beers are initially available from The Wheatsheaf Inn, Thatcham.

All Saviour beers are brewed in the brewery in the grounds of The White Hart, Hamstead Marshall, and they are not available elsewhere.  We use hops from Charles Faram, the largest hop merchant in the country, and malt from Warminster Maltings, who are the oldest maltsers.

Twelve years on we remain a ‘beer led’ brewery making outstanding beers of every style and character.  We’ve won over 70 international, national and local awards and have created collaborative brews with breweries in Australia, Europe, South Africa, Brazil and North America.
