Travel to Ascot by train and enjoy the CAMRA beer festival and flat racing on the Friday of the Ascot Racecourse event.

Suggested meeting places are:
a) Newbury station at 11am – see further below for rail ticket and train suggestions
b) 1pm – at the beer festival in the Grandstand – suggested rendezvous – just beyond the furthest temporary festival bar, on the racecourse side of the Grandstand’s main concourse.
Look out for Branch committee members wearing the navy polo shirt with the West Berkshire CAMRA logo.
NB To qualify for the 50% CAMRA discount on festival tickets it is necessary to purchase tickets in advance on the Ascot racecourse website and quote CAMRA2026 in the small box near the bottom of the relevant screen.
Rail ticket and train suggestions:
Suggest meet near the ticket office on town side of Newbury station at or before 11am.
11.08 train to Reading – arrive 11.35
12.09 Waterloo train from Reading to Ascot – arrive 12.37
NB – May also be possible to connect with the same Ascot train at Reading using the fast 11.25 train from Newbury arrive Reading 12.37 but this train may be delayed and more crowded.
Off peak day return fare Newbury – Ascot is £20.50
Save money by purchasing ‘split tickets’ – Newbury – Wokingham £10.30 and Wokingham – Ascot £6.50.
Railcard discounts (approx one third reduction) are also available to those with railcards.
If there are three or more people travelling without railcards then the Groupsave discount (approx one third reduction) is available providing all members of the group travel out and back on the same trains.
