West Berkshire CAMRA Branch Secretary Mike Avery presented the Club of the Year 2022 award to Club Steward Debbie Hutchins on Thursday 21 April. The Club is a regular winner of the award but Debbie was pleased to receive the award for the first time since she took over as Steward at the Club. Previously the Club has received the Central Southern CAMRA Regional Club of the Year award in 2019 and it now goes forward as the West Berkshire entry to the judging stage for the Berkshire county competition of 2022.
The Hungerford Club enjoys a secluded setting overlooking the Croft green. Popular with tennis, bowls, darts, snooker and billiards players, CAMRA members are also welcome at the club.
The Hungerford Club is near Hungerford station and bus routes, and is accessible on foot via Church Lane or by road via Church Street and Croft Road. Show the Good Beer Guide or CAMRA membership card for entry and ask if a member will kindly sign you in.
The club’s annual real ale festival is usually held over the August Bank Holiday weekend and is open to all. Dates for the 2022 festival have been confirmed as Saturday 27 – Monday 29 August. It will feature around a dozen beers and three draught ciders. There will also be live music and food including pizza, BBQ and freshly filled rolls.
